Hotshot Off-Road Buggy Review

Hotshot Off-Road Buggy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
More than 20 years ago in Manila, my brother and i got to compete in R/C racing.
Mine was the Grasshopper and his was the ever durable Hotshot.
It was one heck of a vehicle which he lent me from time to time.
Being young and inexperienced, i slamed this baby on gutters and sidewalks several times, but it didnt seem to bother it at all. Sure it was heavier than AE's RC10 but as for durability, i can say nothing more. A blast from the 4WD past.
Recently, i got myself this re-issue version. I noticed it almost looked the same, minus the ceramic resistors just below the wing. Brings me back to the days when after a competition and i pick it up, i drop it a few feet back on the ground because my hand gets scalded from those resistors. Now they are just there to complete the look.
Im collecting now. I first bought the RC10 - the one that beat us up most of the time in races. I couldnt afford one then, but now i got one to start off the collection. Intended for me, I eventually had my son play with it since i knew there was something else i wanted. Then i stumbled on the re-issued Hotshot, and i have never been so happy. It took me and my son the whole day bringing it to life. A good bonding project.
The Grasshopper and The Frog is next. Im getting my credit cards ready as i'll be purchasing these two soon here at Amazon.

New Bright - 1:24 Radio Control Beetle Buggy Silver 49 MHz Review

New Bright - 1:24 Radio Control Beetle Buggy Silver 49 MHz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This car is extremely slow. It is like the manufacturer took a motor that was made for a smaller vehicle and used it in a car that is too big with wheels that are way too large. It has no power, and can hardly make it over the smallest bump.
It is okay, but it just slowly moves around the room.
I bought two of these, one Beetle at 49 MHz and one truck at 27 MHz ($12.95 at Walmart, by the way--the price here is ridiculous), so I guess I can't complain much, as you get what you pay for.
My six-year-old likes it. My older kids don't because it is much to slow to amuse them.
I have purchased other New Bright radio controlled products in the past that were much better than this particular car.

This stroller was cheap and is just that cheap. It is really weird as it sits so low to the ground. There is one screw that holds everything together. I do not think it will last long but we will see. Having said that my daughter does play with it and seems to enjoy it.

Bought this beautiful pram for my two-year-old Granddaughter for Christmas. My husband and daughter put this together and the wheels won't work. We also bought the cradle for her and it was lopsided and would not stand-up straight leaned to the left when it stopped rocking. Will be sending them back. I won't buy anything else from Hauck.

Kushies Zolo Cha Cha Buggy Review

Kushies Zolo Cha Cha Buggy
Average Reviews:

Ok, this rattle is insanely expensive... and in the first few months it's too big/heavy/awkward for a baby to hold themselves... but I swear every time I would use this rattle my baby would instantly stop crying (until I stopped rattling...). Now that she is 6 months old she has no problem playing with it herself, and she loves to chew on the yellow part. I think the unique part about this rattle is that it has so many different attributes: a funny face to look at, the rattle (both visual and sound), and the squishy yellow top to chew on. A great toy that she'll play with for a long time!

Laser Pegs Dune Buggy Kit 31 Pieces Review

Laser Pegs Dune Buggy Kit 31 Pieces
Average Reviews:

This was a gift for my six year old son, who can follow any set of Lego or Knex instructions on his own to create an exact replica of the illustration. These instructions, however, are impossible to follow. They don't explain anything at all about what the (very few) images show or how they might relate to each other. He got so frustrated he went to bed. Having said that, you don't really need to build the object shown. The pegs connect in any combination and the lighting-up part is extremely cool and satisfying, so you can just play with it as a free-form sculpture.

LEGO® TECHNIC® Dune Buggy Review

LEGO® TECHNIC® Dune Buggy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this set because, as a grown man, I really couldn't justify spending much more money than this on a toy. Still, it brought me back to my youth! I've always liked the LEGO Technic sets, and it seems like they've come a long way since the last time I put one together. I made the "A" model, the dune buggy - with rear suspension and a "working" 2-cylinder engine. It was very interesting to put together, and well-planned. It took me about an hour, and now I've got a very detailed dune buggy with working steering and suspension. I haven't made the "B" model as I can't bring myself to take apart the buggy yet, but I expect it'll be just as good. Now I have to stop myself from getting bigger Technic sets now that I've been reminded how much fun they are.

Munchkin Linking Buggies Toy - Set of 3 Review

Munchkin Linking Buggies Toy - Set of 3

Cute little bugs, but the magnets that are suppossed to link them together aren't actually strong enough to hold them together. My daughter likes them, but can't play with as a train unless she's on the hardwood floor. Also, the one with the light doesn't stay lit unless you're holding the button or have it linked (which as I said, it won't really stay linked)

Mini Fire Fox Off Road 1:18 Electric RTR RC Buggy (Colors may vary) Review

Mini Fire Fox Off Road 1:18 Electric RTR RC Buggy (Colors may vary)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife and I both have RC's. I have a T-maxx and she has a Losi stadium truck. The last time we went out to terrorize the woods, our 5 year old son showed a real interest in the trucks. My wife let him drive hers around a bit, with supervision, and he seemed to like it. When I asked him if he would like one of his own, he became very excited. After looking around the internet a bit, and making a trip to WalMart, I decided on this one; mostly because of the rechargeable battery pack. Many of the comparable RC's that I looked at required 8 AA batteries, which meant another $20 for some rechargeable Sanyo Eneloops. (The best rechargeable out there.) Another deciding factor was the video that the manufacturer has on You Tube of this little buggy in action.
Now for the product quality:
Once I got it, I looked it over and found that it's plenty sturdy enough. The body comes off like the 'big boy' versions, but there's nothing but plastic under it. The shock travel is kind of a joke, but I guess I'm just used to my T-maxx; it really doesn't need much. It has decent power, but won't drive on grass due to its light weight. It works well in dirt and great on pavement. The controller has no off/on switch. It only comes on when you use it and then turns off immediately. A great way to save those 2 AA batteries! Our son really likes it, and for what it is, it's well worth the price.

Madame Alexander Dolls Sweet Baby Nursery Stroller, Play Alexander Series Review

Madame Alexander Dolls Sweet Baby Nursery Stroller, Play Alexander Series
Average Reviews:

This stroller is just perefect! My 2 year old adores it. It has all the features a little girl could want - reclines, folds, canopy, basket on the bottom, seat buckles for her doll, a little window to see her baby while she pushes, turns easily, and very pretty to look at! the best part for me is that this stroller is tall enough for a 6-year old to push around, so she will have this for many years to come (it is a bit high for her now, but not so much that she cannot operate it easily). Almost no assembly, just attach the wheels, no tools. I have seen many doll strollers and this the best by far.

1:10 Scale Electric Stuck-up 4wd Racing Buggy RTR Review

1:10 Scale Electric Stuck-up 4wd Racing Buggy RTR
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My son got this RC car for Christmas 2010. It comes mostly pre-assembled in the box with only minor parts to put on (the antennas, for example). This is a lot of car for the money and it does go fast, especially with an upgraded battery.
Pros:
Comes complete with rechargeable battery, charger and radio control
Easy to use pistol-grip type controller
No set-up required other than adding the batteries and putting on the antennas
Fast and fun
Looks good
Easy to upgrade the battery from most any hobby store for more speed and a longer run time.
Four-wheel-drive is impressive, especially in gravel or dirtCons:
Run time is only about 10 minutes (may be longer in warmer weather).
Uses the same battery in the car for the drive motor and the receiver. When the battery gets low the car will just stop. Releasing the throttle and pulling it will get the car going again but the time between stops gets shorter each time the car is restarted. It's a little annoying but is a good indicator that the battery is almost dead.
Only includes battery for the motor and receiver (in the car), not for the controller. It takes 8 AA batteries.
Rechargeable battery is Ni-Cad and we found out that it's no longer a technology of choice. When I went to buy another battery the people at the hobby store thought the battery I brought was old and was surprised to find that it was brand new. The new battery of choice is NMh and cost between $20 and $60 depending on how many mili-amps you want.
Old Ni-Cad chargers don't work on the new NMh batteries so don't expect to be able to use that charger you had from your old RC car days. The new charger cost about $40.
Included battery charger is not a quick charger
Spare parts are impossible to find. After a week my son ran his car into a mailbox damaging the front, right wheel and suspension. The owner's manual has an exploded view with all the parts and part numbers but there is no information on how to order them and no amount of Internet searching could find parts for that particular car. I took it to a hobby store and they looked over and said that they did not have any replacement parts other than the wheel. The only solution they could offer was to rebuild the entire suspension with all new parts. The company that makes this car (Heng-Long) does make spare parts for other toys they sell (RC tanks, for example) so the possibility exists for them to offer them for this car in the future.
Since the car is only $135 (compared to $95 Tamiya cars without a radio or battery) I thought it was a good deal for a first "real" RC car. Now I'm not so sure. Having spare parts available is worth a lot. I have tried to repair the broken parts and rebuilt some parts from scratch but the repairs didn't last. Now we're stuck with a one-month old toy that is inoperable and awaiting another fix. My best option so far is to give it to the hobby store and see if they can rebuild it (they will have to match both the left and right with new parts) or buy another one and use the broken one for spares. Money that I could have spent to buy a car with available spares to begin with.
Bottom line: I would spend the extra money to get a car with a proven record (Tamyia, Losi, etc.) with spare parts available at any RC hobby store.

Whisper Ride Buggy Review

Whisper Ride Buggy
Average Reviews:

We bought this for our son's first birthday, and he LOVES it. We got in on sale at Toys'r'Us for about $44, so definitely check around for prices. We tried out both this one and the more basic red buggy at the store, and we definitely preferred this one.
Our son loves to honk the horn and climb in and out. He also loves being able to see all around him -- something he cannot do in the stroller, much to his frustration. We took it to the zoo yesterday, and it was great because getting in and out was far less of a struggle than the stroller would have been, plus he can see better from it in the first place.
I do wish the front wheels swiveled. Turning the car requires you to push down on the push bar, which does put strain on it. I have read several reviews that complain about cracked push bars. However, Step2 will replace any broken parts free of charge, so we're just going to enjoy it for as long as we can and not worry about it -- especially since we got a great deal on it in the first place.

My son wanted this for Christmas and I searched everywhere for it in stores and could not find any Batman legos. Found them here and could not belive the price (incredibly expensive) but I imagined it must be some very large box of legos at this price point. I was stunned when the box showed up on our front door step. Essentially each car is no bigger than a "happy meal" toy and very simple to put together. What a total waste of money!

Guidecraft Doll Buggy Review

Bought this for my early walker. I thought it would be good for holding on to while learning to walk but it was not made for that and doesn't work well for it:0). However, (Pro's) It is very sturdy, well made, easy to put together, rolls well and is super cute. Also it will be perfect when my baby can walk more on her own, It has rubber wheels which do not scratch my floors and has an adjustable height handle bar. Also when it arrived on one of the pieces there were a few scratches, I called and they sent me the a replacement piece quickly. Con's: The bedding is made to fit in the buggy but does not sit up well on its own. As soon as you take your baby doll out the bedding folds down. I folded the blanket and placed it in the bottom and it helps a bunch. Not a big deal but thought I'd mention it. Otherwise I love this and recommend it highly.
