(More customer reviews)These classic Tamiya models (Lunchbox, Grasshopper, Hornet, Frog) are educational because they come in kit form. Just a lot of parts in bags. Do not be intimidated. The instructions are outstanding. Great illustrations and minimal text. I can't think of much that is better for a boy's mechanical knowledge than to build one of these with his dad. I built a Falcon with my dad as a kid, and it is a great memory.
Performance-wise, this buggy will not be competitive in modern racing. The fron suspension is the double wishbone type, but has not shocks; just inboard springs. The rear suspension is independent trailing arm type, with aluminum-bodied, oil-filled shocks. Very nice. The spiked tires are very good in the dirt, gravel, or short grass. However, they will wear out VERY quickly on pavement. I recommend buying a set of rear tires/wheels from the Tamiya Subaru Brat for street use.
The Frog buggy includes three different gear ratios. The highest one is good for street running and yields a pretty impressive top speed; probably 20-25 mph. The middle one is good for all around use. The short one is good for tight tracks. You'll burn up the motor if you run the high speed ratio off road.
The battery holder is not quite wide enough for modern 6 cell NiMH battery packs. However, it is an easy fix. When you're building it, just put a couple washers under the side brackets to space them out a bit.
The wing is a bit fragile; if you flip the buggy a lot, you'll break it off. This is the case with all buggies of this type.
The body comes unpainted.
Overall, this is great fun.
If you're looking for something more high performance and modern, but also much more durable, take a look at the Traxxas Bandit. It is twice as fast, has independent double wishbone suspension all around, oil shocks all around, and is very easy to get parts for.
If you want something that can run on grass, look for a 4WD monster truck, such as the Tamiya Dual Hunter, Tamiya Clodbuster, HPI E-Savage, or Traxxas E-Revo. The Tamiyas come in kit form and you get to build them yourself. (this is nice, because you'll also know how to fix them when you break them)

Little Tikes Ride and Relax Wagon Review

(More customer reviews)The idea of this wagon is excellent, and my son loves to sit in it to be pulled around. However, there are many design flaws such as no predrill holes so the pieces would actually fit, the side attachments are not secured and actually came off during a trial run, the seat belt that does not quite reach the circumference of a child to be functional, and some screws were not long enough to be capped at the ends. Although we can fixed some flaws by drilling holes and buying longer screws and we entertained that thought after assembling it 3/4 way, but it just wasn't worth the effort for the money we paid. We returned the wagon partly assembled to show the manager of the retail store that it was not possible to assembled the wagon according to the manufacture's instructions.

(More customer reviews)We have a 7-year-old daughter who has loved baby dolls since she could walk. We have looked at, played with and sometimes purchased many strollers. This is the most durable one she has ever had. It goes up and down steps, in the neighborhood, in the yard and on a ton of play dates. She loves she can put two dolls in the seats but she has even turned the storage area below into another place for her third baby! The wheels never pop off and since it is not cheap plastic it has no cracks or breaks after over a year plus of playing. This one may cost a little more but it will save you from all the headaches of pieces breaking and popping off as others do. This one folds down too which is nice since our daughter likes to take it lots of places!

Doll pram, Natural, by HABA Review

(More customer reviews)This is a fabulous toy. My daughter loves it (she is now 14 months and we got it when she turned 1). The wheels are made of rubber, so it doesn't scratch or make any noise. It is very sturdy and looks beautiful.
Vesper plays with it every day. She sits in it and "reads" her books; she pushes it around with her toys in it; she uses it to leverage herself onto higher planes (yikes!); and I'm sure she'll find other uses for it as she grows.
I am very happy with the purchase because it is natural wood, easy to clean, quiet, and will not fall apart. It is also sturdy enough for our child to climb in and out without tipping (though it has tipped when she's bounced her weight on the handle - that's something to watch for).
I wish that it hadn't been so expensive, but if it lasts through this and perhaps other children, then I'm ok with that.

(More customer reviews)We bought this item for our granddaughter's 3rd birthday. It is easy to learn to drive for a 3 year old. She gives her 1 year old brother rides in it, and he sits still while his big sister drives. She has pretty much mastered the stearing. The radio is great too. It comes in clear, and has the ability to scan for stations. It has velcro, pretend, seatbelts which is a fantastic learning tool. The children know they can't drive/ride in it until the seatbelts are fastened. Everything works wonderfully. We have a large, grassy, yard. It has a lot of bumps in it, and the Barbie Jammin' Jeep has no problems moving about in it. I highly recommend this product, especially for a 3 year old. We are undecided who has more fun...the children driving/riding in it, or the grandparents watching it.

(More customer reviews)i did quite a bit of research online (comparing descriptions, reading reviews, etc.) and thought this would be the best bike trailer for our family. we decided to not go super cheap and couldn't afford a $500 trailer so this seemed like it would work.
PROS: the price, it was easy to assemble, it looked good, and would be easy for our daughter to see out of.
CONS: the seat was like a sling that didn't have much support so our daughter was slouched, there was only 2 layers of fabric between our child and the ground, and the cover attaches with a long thick line of velcro, so every time you want to get your child in or out, or get into the back compartment you have to rip open the cover, which was difficult to line up and cumbersome in general.
the cons out-weighed the pros so we returned this trailer, and found a burley d'lite for $100 more at a warehouse store that has a great padded seat, better harness and strap hooks, easy clips for opening and closing the cover, and a movable sun shade panel which gets more use than i would have expected

CoPilot Model A Double Bike Trailer Review

(More customer reviews)I have gotten so many complements on how cute this "buggy" is. The bike trailer is perfect for my kids (4 and 2) to ride in and they love it as well. Although they have to sit relatively close together it doesn't seem to bother them once we start riding. I did ALOT of research on ALOT of different trailers and I decided on this one because it looked more sturdy, has 20 in. wheels (for more ground clearance and smoother ride), has somewhat padded seats, and the seat is more substantial than some of the others in the same price range looked. It is also very easy switch it to a different bike because of the vice- like connector (verses the pin connector where there is a piece that has to remain attached to the bike even after the trailer has been removed). For the price I paid ($99.00- on sale, 50% off) I am very satisfied with what I got. I saw very little difference between this one and the ones that were very expensive.

A co-worker warned me that if I bought my daughter a baby doll stroller the first thing she would do is try to get into it and flip it over. Sure enough, our daughter tried to get into this stroller, but since it was designed low to the ground, it didn't even totter. Also, the wheels are big and sturdy and hold up well on our baby doll strolls inside and outside the house. She can move the stroller fairly easy...and it doesn't fall over or flip to one side when she does hit something. I highly recommend this product.

LEGO Dino Attack Urban Avenger vs. Raptor Review

this product has value. like another viewer posted, the dinosaur alone is worth the ten bucks, hes very sturdy and his joints are on small ratchets so any child that can manipulate his limbs can play with him easily. his head and arms socket into his body, so as usual with lego toys they are nearly impossible to break because you just snap them back together.
the dune buggy itself is a favorite of mine because i'm just partial to dune buggies, but bias aside its a pretty good example of lego engineering. some of the cosmetic parts like bits of the engine and the antenna snap off the toy easily, but this is just cosmetic damage and nothing that cant be immediately remedied by the child playing with it.
the rubber rollcage does seem a little tacky at first, but after analyzing the toy i think its a good idea, the giant dinosaur can just smush it and chomp right through to the driver!
no matter which toy the child plays with you get your money's worth with this set, they'll either love the dunebuggy or the dinosaur and play with them exclusively, but legos are so durable that they'll be played with forever. i'd gladly pay double what lego is asking for this set.

Maisto Radio Control Off-Road Baja Beast Review

(More customer reviews)Fast car, lot of fun outdoors. It went through pretty thick grass better than I expected, but it's made for harder surfaces. Driving up a dirt hill is fun, the wheels spin out once they lose traction, which is better than not having ehough power.
You can take the top cover off similar to a real Baja car with little pins. Battery worked good, no issues. Mt dogs are a little wierded out by it ;>}
