(More customer reviews)My 3 year old daughter loves this stroller ... one because it's pink, but also because it's so versatile; it serves as a pram, stroller and carrying bassinet. And Mom and Dad love the wheels; they just glide over the floors and don't make a lot of noise unlike her previous stroller. The overall stroller isn't heavy either which surprised me and so far it's stood up to her abuse.

But when we put the batteries in (that it does NOT come with- 2 9v batteries) and tried to use it around the house all we heard was static. You could very faintly make out a voice but you could not hear what they were saying. This toy was such a disappointment.

(More customer reviews)I had one of these as a child, I remember having so much fun on it. I decided to get my child one so he could experience the same. The toy I remembered moved forward when you bounced on it, as you bounced it also made a noise that I can only describe as 'a playing card in the bicycle spokes' sound.
This toy does not move forward, nor does it make sounds. Up and down are the only things it contributes to playtime. My 18 month old likes it every now and then to bounce on, but other than that he still prefers the push truck, complete with noise for $[...] at Wal-Mart.

Ruckus 1/10th Monster Truck Orange Review

(More customer reviews)I went on a strange spending spree and bought myself a Traxxas Slash and this ElectrixRC Ruckus for my daughter. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a very nice surprise with good performance and good fun. Only $130.
Pro's:
-Price (in between Toy Store R/C cars and higher end R/C cars)
-Performance for price, its pretty quick. Not super fast.
-Upgradeability for price (there is a 15T motor for more speed)
-Was able to find replacement parts at a local hobby shop
-Real shocks, tires, etc just like a high end car.
-Tools needed (except phillips screwdriver) are included
-Real 2 channel remote with reversable switches and steering and throttle trim.
-1/10 scale truck.
Cons:
-Most of those parts are mostly plastic. Already replaced two parts because we crashed into each other.
-The ESC (speed control unit) is stuck on using double sided tape. Higher end cars are screwed into the chassis.
-The radio distance isn't super far. I'd say around 60 yards (real world), maybe 75yards.
If you compare this to something you get at ToysRUs, this will blow away everything there.
If you compare this to a Traxxas, HPI, Losi, Associated, etc then you will be dissappointed. (But you won't get any of those for $130)
Overall, I'm happy with it and would buy it again.

LEGO Technic Dune Buggy Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the dune buggy and add-on motor kit for my 9 year old daughter who grew up with all of the hand-me-down legos from her brothers. She and her 8 and 10 year old cousins (girls) have spent countless hours digging through hundreds of dollars worth of mixed together pieces from who knows how many different kits. Anyway, she said she was ready for something new; so we sat down on her birthday morning with all 872 pieces and began the assembly. It took all day (if you include the many breaks we had to take to give her little fingers a rest), but we got through it with only a couple of small hitchs. The instructions to include the add-on motor kit were a little vague, but once you realize that you have to disassemble a small part of the dune buggy to add the motor unit, it's a piece of cake. The best part of it was working together on it.....I would locate all of the pieces needed for the next step while she was putting together the current step. While she rested her fingers after each step I would double check that all was correct. After an hour or so of building I would let her go run off some of the boredom and recoop. We had great fun making mistakes and getting confused here and there and she was quite proud at the end of the day. Of course I have plans to use some of the stuff from previous kits and some old RC CAR PARTS to make it remote control, because once its together it is pretty boring. All you can do is set the steering to whatever direction you want it to go and turn it loose. If it runs into something the clutch prevents it from destroying the gears (which is good) but also there seems to be an overcurrent limiter built into either the motor unit or battery box that will shut down the motor (which is kind of a pain) because you have to turn it off for a couple of seconds to reset it. It will never be a super rugged off road rc car; BUT IT WILL be remote control with proportional steering and speed control before I am done with it. The out-of-the-box set does have some very unique and even down right amazing parts, engineering, and quality to it. This thing even has a positive track rear end, rack and pinion steering, a visible piston engine and can morph from a high rise standard looking buggy to a 4 inch longer low rider version (the morphing may prove to be a little more difficult to include in the RC I have in mind). In summary; if you sit down with someone and work together building this thing, I am sure you will think it was worth the money even if you don't have the skill to make it remote. And don't forget that after you have had your fun and admired your work; you can tear it apart and rebuild it into a very cool JEEP looking thing with a mower attachment on the back. We haven't built the second model yet but I think it will be every bit as good. LEGO should be proud !!!

(More customer reviews)This is the cutest little baby carriage. Our two year old daughter got it for Christmas. Our daughter uses it with the Corolle Lila baby doll, which I also highly recommend. The carriage fits up to a 17" doll (snugly) and is very sturdy. I like the fact that the bed part lifts out for a baby basket, and it is nice that the stroller will fold up like a real one.
My complaint - the bed part is not fastened well enough. There are two velcro pieces on the sides, one in back, and two snaps. That's it. I would have liked for there to be a little more holding it in, because when the kids push the baby down in the carriage, it tends to sag. I will probably add some more velcro on my own to the front of the carriage and see if it helps.
My two year old daughter will not stay in a stroller herself, but if we take her carriage and her baby Lila, she pushes her baby and stays right with me. We get a lot of comments on how cute she is and how cute the baby and carriage are. I recommend this toy and would purchase it again!

Ok, here's the deal: earlier today I wrote this review with one star for everything because right out of the box my car wouldn't go into reverse.It started making all kinds of noise like the gears were stripped.It's sad when you have to work on the car immediately out of the box but that's what happened. Luckily the gears weren't stripped, the motor just needed to be repositioned, in order for the rear internal gears to make contact. Problem solved. Because I was able to solve the problem rather quickly and with no extra money spent I gave it two more stars(I think that's rather generous if I don't say so myself). However i'm still weary of this product. It might be nice if you like working on RC cars more than driving them.

Set of 3 1:18 Scale ATV Diecast Polaris + Honda + Suzuki Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this set of ATVs for my 1 1/2 year old. I think I got a better deal than what I expected. The ATVs where Diecast bodies so I figured they would last a long time. However three weeks later out of the six ATVs all of them have broken handle bars (plastic) and two have broken the axle and the wheels are off. One of them broke on christmas day and the kids where not even being hard on them. Do I regret the purchase...? No, but I wish they made toys a little more durable, and when they make part of it diecast they should make sure the rest of it can hold up as well.

We now have a big tub full of all the play doh sets that he has and it's a big production when we drag it all out to play! Dominator Off Road 1:16 Electric RTR RC Monster Truck (Color May Vary) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a really cheap product. The antenna is super flimsy and can break really easily. The battery runs out in about 8 minutes, then takes 4 hours to charge. While it was working it was kind of fun, but very short lived. I would not recommend this toy.

Kettler Aero Air Tires Pedal Car Review

(More customer reviews)Looked at LOTS of pedal cars hoping to find one my extremely tall 5-year old can hang on to for a couple years, and maybe pass along to his little sister. We have a roughly paved 1.5 mile running course around the neighborhood, and I wanted to find a ride for Jr that he could burn off some cals while I struggle through my knee-rehab walks. I checked out other models at the local stores and found a common problem. Hard plastic wheels and short wheelbases/frames. Not a good combination for a tall child and a rough path. The air-filled tires and longer frame on this car solved both of those issues, and I can report it rides VERY WELL on our path.
It's no picnic to assemble, and as the other review noted, the build quality isn't great, but let's be realistic about expectations. The tires/rims alone would run $50+ in a hardware store (they're basically wheelbarrow tires)so that doesn't leave much for quality control. Any child's bike runs $50+, that gets you a frame with chains/pedals. $200 is not a bargain, but now at $160, it's approaching a must have. While not drilled particularly well, and I can see how a bolt/hole might be missing, but it is very sturdy, and that's important for an abusive rider.
Never satisfied, I've already modded the unit. First prbblem...hills. My little guy can't pedal up the ones on our course, and although the back of seat has a handle on it, bending over to offer a little assistance was a back breaker. I used some conduit and fashioned a tall, U shaped push handle, attached it to the back of the seat with the conduit straps (4). Covered with standard pipe insulation. Works like a champ!! $5 in materials, but I already owned a conduit bender.
Something to look out for...the brake works, but it's not intuitive for a 5-year old. They respond to terror on the downhill but putting their feet down Flintstone style. I had to teach Jr how to use the brake and reinforce it very often by playing a little "brake" game on the flats. He's got it now, but the first run was spooky, worsened by the fact you have to take one hand off the wheel to use the brake. Make sure Jr has that nailed BEFORE the first downhill! No seat belt either...I'm thinking of a velcro strap solution like the one he has on his battery powered yard jeep.
Regarding the comment about how a 9-year old might only get one season out of it...probably true. It's not a large frame, and the company says 5-9 years. The geometry just doesn't work as the kids get older, so this is definitely a starter machine in the age category.
